I have moved into a house and the electricity was still on, I called first choice and told them electricity was still on and I need to get electricity in my name. The representative topd me it was all fine and I would be billed regularly and the previous renters account would be shut off and would automatically switch to my bill. First Choice power won't send bills. I've requested a paper bill and an email bill, but four months ago they started sending bills to my old address and since then I've had several phone conversations with them to request a paper bill and an email reminder. I needed electricity in a vacant house for approximately 30 minutes while I did some work. I had never done pre-paid electricity before so I asked a lot of questions about the service. I was told the min amount I could pay in was $10, so I paid $10 to get it turned on, then I was told there would be a $3.?? fee to turn it on so I paid the $3 something. I have sent First Choice Power two death certificates for a family member at FCP's request. I have contacted them for two months and they say I have not faxed them a certificate. I received another minimum bill. They have no record of receiving the death certificates and apparently it's my fault. i signed with first choice power on the 8th of September. faxed over all my personal information. credit check was fine, no deposit required. days passed until it was time for my new month to month account was to start. when I called to find out if the new account had started, talked to at least 20 people. finally I had enough.
