My husband switched us from another Pay-as-you-go provider lured in by the "Free Weekends" offered. Starting out we put 40 dollars onto our account. About a week later we added another 100.00. Someone in the Houston area has been using my Social Security number to acquire utility service without furnishing a picture ID. This is the fourth utility company that has allowed this to happen May through July, 2015. They have been using my Social Security number to get service by phone or online. First Choice Power is a terrible company to get service from. They charge hidden fees and withold deposits after charging late fees without warning. Read the fine print carefully with this company. With multiple power services to choose from this company would be last on my list.

I switched with this service a week ago and i hate it.I put 40 on it monday than 20 friday and 10 saturday and sunday noway soon as i put money on it is gone .i get text at 12:00 midnight which i think is awful by the next monday they cut my power off behind me being a 1.50 negative .i get paid at 3:00 in the afternoon you can never get a hold to anyone...what a rip off......going back to old service.never again... I have moved into a house and the electricity was still on, I called first choice and told them electricity was still on and I need to get electricity in my name. The representative topd me it was all fine and I would be billed regularly and the previous renters account would be shut off and would automatically switch to my bill. First Choice power won't send bills. I've requested a paper bill and an email bill, but four months ago they started sending bills to my old address and since then I've had several phone conversations with them to request a paper bill and an email reminder.
